Built by Rao Jodhaji in 1458 A.D., it stands on a rocky range of sandstone hills, surrounded by strong wall nearly 10 km long, 2.7 m thick & 4.9 m high. The outstanding feature of Jodhpur is it's Fortress Castle, situated on isolated rocky eminence, 122 m above the city level. Within the Fort are Royal Palaces. Also worth visiting is Mandore which is famous for it's Gardens & Royal Cenotaphs. From Jodhpur, One can also take a Village jeep safari, visiting Traditional Village which can be very interesting trip.
